Google Inc.,
in collaboration with Asustek Computer, is all set to unveil its second-generation
Nexus 7 tablet in May, a report said.
Android
tablets with low price and high quality are the trademarks of Google and Asustek’s
devices, which even won the hearts of many a critic.
In 2013, the
combined shipments of Nexus 7 1st and 2nd generation devices are expected to
reach 10 million units, DigiTimes quoted supply chain sources as saying.
The report said
Google Nexus 7 shipments may exceed six million units by the end of this month.
The model with the price tag of US$249 will be the best selling one, it added.
Though 7-inch
2nd generation Nexus 7 will have greater specifications than the 1st, experts
noted its price will be the same as the old model: between US$199 and 249.
Other new
features of the upcoming device will be thinner border around its display and Full
HD resolution.
