London: Amid rumours about the release of Samsung Galaxy S4 and iPhone 6,
a survey reveals that British retailers are recommending Galaxy smartphones
over the rival Apple’s iPhones.
In the survey carried out by Informa Telecoms and Media the researchers
found that the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 were most often recommended, even
though they've been on the market longer than Apple's new iPhone 5 and other
handsets from Nokia and HTC.
The survey has found most surprising way that, despite an in-store
advertising campaign and recent product launch, Apple was recommended in only
two stores, 3 and Phones 4 U, with both recommending the iPhone 5, the survey
showed.
According to the Telegraph, the survey scored manufacturers based on whether
they were advertised in the store window or in-store.
A sales assistant was then to recommend three smartphones or tablets.
Apple and Samsung were just as likely to be promoted by advertising in the
store or the shop window, but sales assistants were far more likely to
recommend Samsung, the apper said.
According to the paper, Informa, in a press release, said it was ‘likely
that sales assistants see the Samsung devices as a safe bet to earn greater
commissions’
